TouchStream Solutions was founded in 2010 with the simple goal: help seniors and people with disabilities achieve greater independence.

Our founders each have over 20 years of experience in new product development. Additionally, we bring a highly experienced go to market team of healthcare technology and business development professionals.

Joel Benzel
CEO & Founder

Mr. Benzel has 20 years of experience designing, building, and marketing consumer and small business software products.  He was group manager for QuickBooks Payroll product development where he oversaw a multi-disciplinary development team that launched two major new products, which drove a 30% increase in net subscribers and 40% growth in revenue.  He was a founding member of EmployeeMatters.com, the first web based payroll for small businesses, which was sold to Intuit in 2001.  Prior to founding TouchStream, he held various senior leadership positions at Paychex, where he guided Paychex into the Software as a Service (cloud) market and launched several new web-based Human Resource products, which contributed over $30 million annually at the time of his departure.  Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Citibank and KPMG Peat Marwick.

Robert Gretzinger
CTO & Co-Founder

Mr. Gretzinger has over 25 years of experience developing commercial software with deep expertise in embedded software design, image processing, video processing and codecs. He has held senior positions at Kodak, Questra, and the National Security Agency.

 

 

 

Dr. Daniel Mendelson, M.D.
Medical Director

Dr. Mendelson is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He also helped establish Strong Health Geriatrics Group where he has served as associate medical director. He co-founded the Geriatric Fracture Center at Highland Hospital and lectures world-wide about topics related to fragility fractures and has several publications in this area. He is the founder of the Palliative Care Consultation Service at Highland Hospital and helped establish the Palliative Care Consultation Service at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Mendelson has served as the Medical Director of the Highlands at Brighton (2006-2014) and Monroe Community Hospital (2012-2014); he previously served as medical director of Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester & Monroe County and the Baird Nursing Home. He serves as a member of local, not-for-profit boards of directors, the Highland Hospital Ethics Committee, and the NY American College of Physicians Ethics Committees. He has won several teaching awards and other recognition of his work including a Rochester Business Journal Award and the Highland Hospital Distinguished Physician Award.

Lisa Izzo
Director, Customer Experience

Lisa has over 25 years of experience in education and customer service.  After a successful career as an educator, she made a career transition into customer service for an electronics firm providing software for small and mid-sized businesses in the Rochester, NY area.  She brings a passion for customer service and possesses expert skills necessary to educate clients with a variety of special needs.
